AUTUMN ROAD "A Season of Change"

We are in a new series at 7 Hills Church called "Autumn Road: A Season of Change!"  During this series, we are discovering the things that bring positive change in our lives.

The other night I was channel surfing through the abundance of stations on the TV (as I often do).  I ran across a particular program that caught my attention.  They were highlighting the story of a young man (18 yrs old or so) who weighed well over 300 lbs.  He decided that he needed to make a decision to lose the weight and get healthy.  If he didn't, his future health was in serious jeopardy.  This "decision" to get healthy resulted in him losing an unheard of 120 lbs in 110 days.  That's right...110 days!  I thought to myself, "This kid's life has been changed by a 110 day decision."  His present situation and future were changed in his "season of change".  His personal trainer's response to this amazing feat was, "He accomplished this because he didn't know that it couldn't be done!"

I began to revisit and rethink seasons of change in my life.  Times when I drew a line in the sand with a bold & clear decision that things were going to be different.  Seasons of breakthrough & promotion that forever impacted my life for the good and brought me closer to God's will and destiny.  On my journey I've learned this important lesson... never underestimate the "Power of a Season"!

Meet Jori Johnson

The two most common words heard at 7 Hills, besides "Praise God!", are "HEY JORI!!!".  If something needs set up on stage... if you have a sound need... if there is a lighting or recording issue... Jori is the man to go to.  Jori literally is the glue that holds the production side of 7 Hills together.  He's always upbeat and has a "Whatever it takes!" attitude.  I can't tell you how many long days and late nights Jori has worked to make sure things were ready for a service or event.  Usually you will find him behind the sound board or playing keys.  He is known for: his sweet signature lasso dance moves, scarves, cardigans and just being a great guy!!!

Jori is a prime example of yet another person who makes 7 Hills a great place to experience "A Better Life"!  Thanks Jori for all you do.  There are not enough scarves in the world to show you how much we love and appreciate you.

Meet Carina Shockley- Worship Dept. Intern

I’m Carina Shockley and I am 21 years old. Recently, I’ve had the privilege of being an intern with the worship department at 7 Hills Church. This experience has been such an honor and joy in every aspect as I have grown closer to such an incredible worship team and most importantly a powerful and personal Savior! My goal is to inform people about the excitement that bubbles to the surface when serving in such a dynamic environment.   

My background: I began leading worship in eighth grade in the middle school ministry of 7 Hills Church. All throughout high school I continued to lead in several capacities in the life of my church. Immediately after graduating high school I applied to and attended Northern Kentucky University, with a degree in Elementary Education. While in college, I volunteered leading the Children’s Worship Ministry at 7 Hills Church and then transitioned to the Main Worship Team, where I soon became a worship intern. Going through the Summit classes and watching 7 Hills Church grow in the last few years has been such an honor to experience. There is a movement of God occurring here that’s so strong that it can only be described as supernatural. After graduating from NKU in May 2011, God opened up a door for a fourth grade elementary teaching position at a school in Campbell County. Although I was quite astonished at this incredible opportunity, I quickly accepted and now look forward to imparting love and compassion to my students within my teaching career.

  

I would hate for this experience to pass me by without taking time to reflect, and allow you all to participate with me in this journey. Therefore, it is essential that you understand how much of a blessing it is to serve in any ministry here at 7 Hills Church. These are the people who you can do life with. We support each other, grow together, and most importantly we live a life that is dedicated to serving God’s Kingdom.

           

We are blessed to be a blessing to those around us!

Meet Bill Fredette

Bill is one of our lead guitarists at 7 Hills.  You can not say enough about Bill.  He has a true heart for God, loves our church, and it shows!  Bill is always the first to show up, always is ready to play and worship with a smile on his face and a fire in his heart.  His son Elijah plays drums at the church as well.  We truly are blessed to have Bill as part of the 7 Hills Worship team.  Thank you Bill for your hard work, steadfast commitment, faithfulness to the vision and your heart to serve!
